You’ve tried everything to feel better, but nothing’s really worked.

Despite trying therapy in the past, you still feel overwhelmed and unable to connect with life.

You’re still struggling with:

Anxiety & feeling overwhelmed

Noticing the impacts of painful experiences that keep you from doing the things you want to do

Feeling triggered when you do put yourself out there

emdr can help you heal from your past

This specialized approach helps you heal your emotional wounds using the mind/body connection.

  • EMDR works by stimulating the brain’s natural healing processes to help individuals process and integrate traumatic memories.

  • First, we’ll decide what to focus on by identifying a negative belief and memories associated with that belief. Next, we’ll reprocess that negative belief and memory using bilateral stimulation. Bilateral stimulation refers to sensory stimuli, such as sounds, tapping, and eye movement, that activate both sides of the brain. The reprocessing is done in sets, which last about one minute each. After each set, I’ll check in with you to see what you’ve noticed. You’ll briefly describe what happened then we’ll continue sets until the reprocessing is complete. We’ll know it is complete when you begin to notice positive thoughts/memories/sensations.

  • EMDR helps by stimulating the brain’s natural healing powers with the use of bilateral stimulation. The bilateral stimulation helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories which reduces the emotional intensity of traumatic memories and the way they are experienced.

Please know this:

Healing is possible.

  • Unprocessed, traumatic memories become “stuck” in the brain and EMDR helps to guide them to the proper place. EMDR can help you tap into your brain’s natural healing process and “unstick” those memories so you can reclaim your life.

  • That is a personal preference! If you prefer to reprocess with your eyes closed, I would suggest the butterfly hug or hand held pulsers. There is also auditory stimulation or visual stimulation using the lightbar or following my fingers. We can experiment and see what works best for you. You can even combine methods!

  • The first step is to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation. That will give us a few minutes to chat and see if we’d be a good fit. I’ll ask about your previous therapy experience and explain my approach to therapy and give you an opportunity to ask questions. If we decide to work together, we’ll schedule a session.
